Anthony mascolo named irish hairdressing's 'international icon'

The
Irish Hairdressers Federation have named Anthony Mascolo their International Icon at their third annual Awards Night.
The Award is chosen by the IHF president and a senior executive committee panel on behalf of the Irish Hairdressing Industry and has previously been awarded to Joshua Galvin and Trevor Sorbie.The Annual Awards night also paying tribute to the many men and women in Ireland who have given something ‘special’ to the industry in the past. Each year 'Hairdressing Icons' are chosen by a board of advisors including the IHF Senior Executive Committee members, past presidents and other industry representatives.
The Icons chosen are divided into two categories:
Hall of Leaders and the
Hall of Fame.
The
Hall of Leaders is for people who have had an impact on the industry for the last 30 years. To date 18 Icons have been named in the prestigious group:
- Frank Hession
- David Marshall
- Tony Rodgers
- Robert Chambers
- Peter & Mark Keeveney
- Ivan Bishoff
- Maura Clarke
- Maeve O’Healy-Harte
- Bob Downes
- Lawrence Hingerton
- Peter Munton
- Paddy Donnellan
- Bryan Murphy
- Frank O’Keeffe
- Sean Wright
- Seamus Furlong
- Brendan Roche
Hall of Fame Icons are those who have been extremely successful in competitions or who have been media favourites for many years. At present, there are five of these Icons:
- Michael Leong
- Maeve O’Healy-Harte
- Anthony Murray
- Bernard Breslin
- Gary Kavanagh
The evening is completed with the
Irish All-Star Awards, which recognise the up and coming ‘STARS’ and Mature ‘Stars’ of the Industry.
