I am inspired every day, and constantly take photographs on my journeys. Here are just some of the things that inspire me."

Angelo Seminara, HJ's 2010 British Hairdresser of the Year

Mother nature

"It's the most creative and inspirational source on the planet. I am inspired by the textures, colours, shapes and the fauna. You don't have to look at hairdressing for inspiration when nature gives you everything you need. Add your imagination and anything is possible. As a child, I grew up in the countryside and I appreciate the natural world. I would smell flowers and feel the grass and the pebbles. If you are born in the city you see fashion and architecture and that is your influence. You absorb what is around you. One of the most beautiful areas of nature is the ocean and everything that comes from it - water, rocks, fish and coral."

angelo-inspiration-food.JPGFood

"I constantly photograph food. I am amazed by the colours and textures. I have spent my life surrounded by Italian food, but Japanese food is amazing. It's presented like no other; and the taste and portion size is so very different to food I usually experience."

angelo-inspiration-architecture.JPGArchitecture

"If I hadn't become a hairdresser, I would have been an architect. I love the innovative shapes, creations, materials and textures. I particularly like modern and baroque architecture. I also like the way the Japanese use space and light in their buildings. A house should look beautiful, but the view from the window is equally as important. It can influence your life and the way it makes you feel."

"What the Apple company does is amazing. It produces products to make lives and businesses easier and better. It creates products that we didn't know we needed. It constantly thinks outside the box and has created an enigma so that every time it launches a product people queue down the streets."

angelo-inspiration-davines.JPGDavide Bollati

"Davide is the brainchild behind Davines, and comes from a chemist background. I like what he does and the fact that the products are designed for sustainable beauty. He is always looking at ways to reduce pollution. His offices in Italy are wind powered, and he is building his own eco house."
