Andrew collinge awards name in-house talent

The 2015 Andrew Collinge Awards, supported by TIGI Professional, took place this month at the Titanic Hotel and Rum Warehouse in Liverpool. As well as celebrating a year of successes, the evening also saw the announcement that Charlie Collinge, the son of Andrew and Liz Collinge, would be joining the company in spring as managing director - carrying on the family tradition for a fourth generation. After Charlie made his debut appearance in front of the 150 strong team members, Sarah Collinge, training director for the brand introduced a fitting tribute to their mother, Hazel Collinge, who passed away before Christmas. Hazel was instrumental in setting up the foundations of the business, alongside her husband Peter. Her involvement in training secured the success of the Collinge name, which continues to go from strength to strength. The Hazel Collinge Award for Excellence went to Karen Seaton, who has played a significant role in the company since her training with the Merseyside institution in the 1980s (pictured above). Next it was time for the creative awards to take place. During the day, 12 finalists with all levels of hairdressing experience, who had previously secured their place in the first round competitions held in November, created a contemporary cut and colour look in the Castle Street salon. Judged by executive director of HJ, Jayne Lewis-Orr, European creative director at TIGI,  Akos Bodi and European creative technical director at TIGI, Warren Boodaghians. The winner, who goes on to shoot a creative photographic collection, was Castle Street’s Jayne Littler. And The Winners Were...
