The British Hairdressing Council have announced Andrew Barton as an honorary ambassador in appreciation of his ongoing support and work on their behalf.
Andrew may be best known for his celebrity clientele and TV work, but it is his tireless campaigning for compulsory
State Registration that earned him the title of honorary ambassador for the Council.
There is currently no compulsory regulation for the British hairdressing industry. The Hairdressing Council is seeking to ensure that all qualified hairdressers and barbers become state registered to professionalise and regulate the industry.
To thank Andrew for his work on the campaign, and to recognise his decades of notable work as a hairdresser, the British Hairdressing Council chose to honour Andrew with the new title of Honorary Ambassador following their annual conference event in the House of Commons.
Andrew comments: "I am thrilled to receive this great honour from the British Hairdressing Council. They are a superb organisation and I fully support all the work they are doing on this campaign, which I am proud to be involved with. I hope we can encourage more hairdressers and MPs to support the cause!"
