Tressly, the all-in-one business software for independent hair stylists, hosted their second Tress Gala (sponsored by Mielle and L'Oreal Professional Products) on Monday 28 October 2024 at The Londoner Hotel, Soho.

With the media support of Hairdressers Journal, Tress Gala is an event aimed at celebrating the UK's thriving Black hair styling industry, providing a safe space to network and share ideas and stories before an incredible after party.

Hosted during Black History Month, Tress Gala champions excellence and community within the industry, and Antoinette Ale, Tressly Co-founder and CEO, opened the event by announcing the launch of Tressly Studios and Tressl Academy, providing more spaces for black stylists and creatives in the industry.

The hair theme for this year was 'Volume' and guests were asked to come with "hair as big as you like, from hollywood waves to Afros to headpieces, this is your chance to express yourself creatively through hair." There were also awards for Best Dressed, Best Hair and Most Creative Look on the night.

This year hairstylists were invited to enter the Tress Gala Awards to showcase their incredible talent ahead of the event itself. Judged by Mary Adekoya, James Venner, Dionne Smith and Molecia Seasay across four categories:

Best Natural Hair Stylist, sponsored by @weareplantmade
