"Despite the Indian summer outside, fashion is now firmly focused on autumn/winter and my creative team and I have put together our seasonal trends for the coming months.

"I am so excited about the direction hair is going as it really embraces the trend towards 80s fashion.

"Although it's often coined as the decade that style forgot, I just love the diversity and sheer creativity that emerged around that time and am enjoying reworking 80s hair fashion to bring it into 2009.

"We are working on committed, statement styles that rule with attitude and confidence!

"Hair is set to play as big a role in stylistic expression as the clothes our clients will be wearing for A/W 09. The strong structured hairstyles of the 80's will take on a contemporary feel by working with lots of volume and movement for a softer, more feminine and wearable finish than twenty odd years ago.

"Continuing this trend, crimping will be a huge trend for A/W 09, but styled to achieve a dual texture, for example slicked back hair exploding into a cloud of voluminous frizz. We're also incorporating longer hair into our collections, worn big and voluminous for unadulterated femininity.

The ultimate beauty statement, this look is all about shine bursting with volume.

"As a team we always work together to ensure all our cuts work with colour to perfectly complement the shapes.

"For this reason the 80s influence will also be evident in the Autumn/Winter 09 hair colour palette, where we will see colour really brought to life with vibrant tones and hues.

"Our Creative Colour Director Christel Lundqvist is working with an ultra colourful palette from rich marmite brown and deep mahogany to strong pearl black with accents of orange squash, mustard, glossy maroon, fuschia and redcurrant reds.

"Blondes are clean with tones of lily white, champagne and petal rose. Christel's focus this season is on placement of colour and block colour techniques, all being used to achieve an even result from roots to ends."
