When Sarah and Adrian Bowron decided they needed a bigger salon to accommodate their growing business, Aesthetics in Solihull, they opted to expand their current premises, utilising all three floors of the expansive building.
Expanding rather than moving had its advantages, but there was still a huge amount of work to be done.
"The ground floor was already an established salon, while the first and second floors were empty shells," recalls Sarah. "There was no connecting access to the upper floor from the salon; nor did they have any plumbing or electricity. They were basically derelict."
Work took six weeks, but the result was an incredible transformation, with a resplendent spiral staircase linking all three floors in dynamic style. The extra space has made it possible to create a new, bigger reception area, plus two colour bars.
The main colours for the refurbished salon are neutral, calm shades designed to create a feeling of relaxation and comfort for the client. The aim was to create a salon interior that was timeless and luxurious. "We were heavily inspired by the look of luxury hotels," says Sarah.
