A night of inspiration at fellowship members night
A combination of some the Fellowship's established members and newcomers to the stage teamed up to present at the second Fellowship Members Night of the year at the L'Oréal International Academy, Hammersmith.
Hosted by Fellowship President, Terry Calvert and ably assisted by comperes HJ's Ruth Hunsley and David Drew the evening saw a variety of looks that took inspiration from topics as varied as the 40s sex sirens, the circus and the World Cup.
Adding to the drama was an interview with current British Hairdresser of the Year Akin Konizi, who spoke about the importance of the Fellowship and urged hairdressers to seize opportunities that it offers such as taking to the stage at Members Night; and the ClubStar Young Artistic Team's debut presented by Jamie Stevens.
Here's a summary of the creative work on display at the Fellowship Members Night:
Salon Smart:est 73, Weston Super Mare, started the show with a bang with three models dressed in 40s bikinis complemented by hairstyles from the era that had been given a modern twist.
Next on was The Point from Brighton whose the four models demonstrated a non-conformist look around the theme of female pirates.
A combination of short, strong and sexy hair and big curls were on display in Club 21's circus-inspired presentation.
Presenting for the Fellowship for first time, The Gallery from Tunbridge Wells was a colour showcase that featured grubby golds to add character.
Antonio Giovanni from Ipswich presented three models with a theme of 'Runway'. The vibrant colours were enhanced by the strong geometric shapes.
The recent Wold Cup in South Africa was the inspiration for the team from Ciente Salon in Berkhamsted who presented two models
Mova Hair from Surrey then presented four beautiful commercial looks.
'Street Mangtastic' was the theme of Saks A team presentation. The show was inspired by concept art galleries and Japanese culture with clashes of colour. The models showed textured hair with fantastic creative looks including a pink pyramid.
There was a highly creative presentation from Peter Prosser Hairdressing, of Hereford. They presented four models that were themed ocean chic and featured rock shell formations and textures from the sea.
The P Kai Art Team were another team making their Fellowship debut. Their four models were a tribute to the attributes of the season's must-have hair hue: red.
Strangeways from Leigh-on-Sea took guests back to 80s nightclubs with their models that took to the catwalk dressed in black drainpipes, suede shoes and fluorescent socks complemented with stunning blonde and red locks.
Then it was over to the ClubStar's Young Artistic Team who demonstrated a confident presenting manner beyond their years. The team consists of six members: Jack Spencer, Jonathan de Francesco, Samantha Langford, Matthew Evans, Arash Moghaddami and Heather Whincup; four of whom took to the Members Night stage.
Jack from Hug 8 Hairdressing presented a model inspired by Alexander McQueen and explained how he loved playing with different textures to create his looks.
Matthew from Goldsworthy's, Swindon took inspiration for his stunning redhead from chart-topper Florence Welch of Florence and the Machines.
The inspiration for Arash from Karine Jackson, London, came from the ash cloud with warm and cool colours meeting to create an exciting look; while Samantha from Cienté presented a short sharp look that was complemented by the underwear as outerwear trend.
With the presentations over, it was back to Terry Calvert to conclude the evening by thanking sponsors, L'Oreal, the hair teams, the comperes and Ann Herman who had organised another hugely successful Fellowship event.
