A boudoir-style refurbishment for zigzag hair studios

ZigZag Hairstudios first opened in 1986 and now has five salons and a training academy run by Simon Hayter, his wife Amanda and brother Paul in Milton Keynes.
A prime high street location attracted Simon to their original premises, and in the past 25 years it has undergone no less that five interior reincarnations. When the most recent revamp got underway, the team behind ZigZag Hairstudios had one thing in mind: creating something different.
"We didn't want it to look like 99% of the salons on the high street," says Simon. Instead the team went for an extravagant boutique feel based on the Crazy Bear Hotel in Beaconsfield, which inspired Amanda in her designs.
Describing the finished look as "boudoir boutique," Simon and the team are clearly happy with the results of their ZigZag revamp, and hope it will fulfil their original aim "to make any passerby do a double take."
