What is your biggest achievement?

Winning British Hairdresser of the Year 3 times - but also being happily married for 22 years.

If you weren't a hairdresser what would you be?

A musician

Vivienne Westwood -though I wouldn't personally wear her clothes.

Seeing images materialise



Who is your most famous client past or present?


I have done many, but the clients that loved my haircuts are the ones that mean the most



Last time you were lost for words?


The Alternative Hair Show when I was given a script that didn't match what was happening and they gave me an award.

Is there anything about the industry that makes you mad?


I wake up every morning and thank God I am in this industry

What's the biggest gaffe you've made in your career?

Nothing is a gaffe -it's all a learning process

What celebrity haircut do you wish had never caught on?

The short frizzy perm - I can't even remember who had it -but we hated doing it!

What haircut would you love to make a come-back and how would you re-invent it for the noughties?

The 70s shaggy bob -it would look great on Sienna Miller and it would look up to date by making it look fresh and natural -not too 'over-done'
