The People's Choice Barber Competition - Terms and Conditions

COMPETITION:

The People’s Choice Barber Competition is a chance for Emerging Talent and Advanced barbers to get involved in the buzz of competing and for the chance to be crowned The People’s Choice Barber and win a £500 cash prize.  

WHO CAN ENTER:

This competition has two categories: Emerging Talent and Advanced. The Emerging Talent category is aimed at barbers with less than three years experience at the time of the competition and anyone with over three years experience at the time of the competition is eligible to enter the Advanced category.

HOW TO ENTER:

Round 1: People's Choice - submitted entries will be put to an online public vote, and the winners will be invited to attend judging at Salon International. Submit your entry here: 

Round 2: The chosen finalists will be invited to live judging taking place at Salon International on Sunday 12th (Advanced) and Monday 13th (Emerging Talent) October 2025 at Excel, London.

TIMETABLE & ENTRY DEADLINES:

The closing date for entries to this competition is 15 August 2025. Under no circumstances will entries be allowed after this time. Entries will be shared on instagram for public voting from 18 to 20 August 2025.

Finalists will be notified on 21 August and announced on Salon International (@salon_int) and Modern Barber Magazine Instagram (@modernbarbermag). Finalists will be required to attend Salon International for the final on Sunday 12th (Advanced) and Monday 13th (Emerging Talent) October 2025.

PHOTOGRAPHIC REQUIREMENTS:

Each submission must comprise of examples of the individual’s work. All entries must be the original and the unassisted work of the applicant.

JUDGING:

The final judging will be conducted by top industry professionals, there will be a minimum of two judges to make sure all the entries are judged fairly.

Entries will be judged solely on the following, as evidenced by their photographic submission:

· Accuracy

· Style

· Skills

It should be noted that all photographic materials submitted by entrants should be of sufficient quality to enable proper judging (high quality photos taken on mobile phones can be submitted). Any entry that is of poor photographic quality, and therefore insufficient to be accurately judged will be discarded by the judges.

FINALS:

The finals will take place in the form of a live judging at Salon International on:

Advanced Category: Sunday 12 October 2025.

Emerging Talent Category: Monday 13 October 2025.

PRIZES:

- £500 cash prize

- Trophy

Every entrant to the competition avows that by participating in this competition they positively confirm that they consent to the free and absolute use by Modern Barber Magazine, Salon International and Professional Beauty Group of any photographic, digital or other imagery submitted by them or on their behalf for entry purposes and any subsequent material which is created for or as a result of this competition including use of film, photography or written words including quotes whether in press releases, website materials, promotional purposes of otherwise. However, Modern Barber Magazine and Salon International will not cause or permit the publication of any personal information relating to any entrant other than the name, age, place of study, place of work and social media handles.
