Sam McKnight created hair he entitled, Recycled Chic, for the Andreas Kronthaler/Vivienne Westwood AW17 show in Paris.
Sam explained that whilst featuring accessories fashioned from recycled items found backstage at the shows, the look is not grungy but clean and elegant, and individual to each male and female model.
As he wanted to change each model’s look, hair was first prepped using the BaByliss PRO Italia Brava to provide a base from which to start. Straight hair was tonged using a Titanium Expression 25mm or 38 mm Tong – depending on the model’s hair – to give a soft wave and add texture. Curly and hair with frizz was straightened using the Titanium Expression Ultimate Styler. Models without fringes had fake ones added and those with short hair had extensions added.
Sam said, “The hats and jewellery in this collection are made from recycled materials and we have followed this through with the hair accessories. It’s fun but elegant – like what you might do when you are 17 and on your third day at Glastonbury, dressing up in anything you can find.”
As well as their hair accessories some of the model’s were also given braids, ensuring that each model had their own, truly unique look.
