Westrow Street Lane is the latest addition to the Leeds-based chain's lineup, and the look is all about refined luxury.
When Jenny Pelter and Amy Lopez decided to open a Westrow franchise salon in Roundhay, Leeds, they had a clear vision of what they wanted to achieve to attract their desired clientele of glamorous professionals.
Jenny says: "We wanted to create a salon that felt like a beautiful house, with classic features and a simple, luxurious feel – the kind of place you would call home."
Achieving this vision was a challenge, however, with the chosen site in need of more than a little TLC.
Says Jenny: "The salon used to be home to a beautician, but it looked more like a disused office – it even had blue carpets!
"However, we were attracted to the building because of its tall ceilings, a beautiful light space on the first floor surrounded by windows and also the location – it is in a premium spot in the heart of the affluent Street Lane in north Leeds."
The salon is set over two floors, with the ground floor reception area featuring two bespoke waiting chairs and a gold chandelier for a touch of decadence. The grey glass reception desk was designed for Westrow by Absolute Contrast Interiors. Retail displays feature on both floors in recesses either side of the period fireplaces.
The fireplaces are complemented with Georgian-style panelled walls, and this theme is extended through to a terrace created using York stone and a decorative railing.
The two backwash zones are housed in separate areas on both the ground and first floors, designed to offer clients a private area in which to relax. "The backwash zones are inspired by spas, with mood lighting, individual sound systems and massaging chairs," says Jenny.
"We’d like to think we have created a place that will appeal to everyone – somewhere that feels inviting, like a beautiful hotel," Jenny adds.
