Schwarzkopf Professional invited Hairdressers Journal International to the new Trend Lab at the brand's headquarters in Hamburg, Germany to capture exclusive behind the scenes images and footage from the #NeonMania shoot.
The concept behind the Trend Lab is to respond to the latest trending topics on social media and create step-by-step tutorials and finished looks that can be shared online to inspire and inform hairdressers across the industry.
The custom-made space blends together a premium loft-style salon and a state-of-the art photography studio and the blank canvas can be transformed to suit any current or upcoming trend. The content can be created in real-time with live videos streamed on Facebook and Instagram Live.
A blacked out room filled with neon signs was used as the backdrop for the #NeonMania shoot. UK hairdresser and Schwarzkopf Professional brand ambassador Tim Scott-Wright created the Royal Take Over Lucid Nocturnes look featuring subtle deep blues and reds against a structured bob with a fringe.
Schwarzkopf Professional's international creative director Simon Ellis said: "The Trend Lab as a real step-change in digital delivery and a brand-new channel that provides the opportunity to capture, connect and deliver education-based, real time hair and fashion trends, as they happen.
Exclusive Trend Lab content is accessible on Schwarzkopf Professional's state-of-the-art eLearning platform ask-elearning.com with hairdresser-led webinars. However, the #NeonMania step-by-step tutorial and finished look will be featured exclusively in an upcoming issue of Hairdressers Journal International with behind the scenes footage on our website.
