Professional colour and haircare brand Matrix has announced award-winning and celebrity colourist and stylist, Lisa Farrall, as its brand ambassador for the UK and Ireland.
“Matrix is a brand that’s close to my heart because they embrace individuality and allow me to express myself creatively,” says Lisa, who was a finalist in 2019's British Hairdressing Awards.
“When it comes to hair, I create my own rules. You have to dare to be different and push boundaries. Matrix encourages me to ‘do it my way’, whether on a video set or behind the scenes at a shoot,” she says.
Known as an advocate for hair inclusivity, Farrall aims to educate for all hair types. "I believe that you should be able to walk into any salon and get your hair done. This is why I’m on a mission to make the industry texture neutral," she says.
“For me, empowerment means accessibility for all. I love the fact that Matrix has a wide education network, which offers support and knowledge to everyone who needs it,” she says. “No matter whether you work freelance, independently, or in a salon. Matrix provides the tools needed to help you achieve your best.”
As Matrix brand ambassador for the UK and Ireland, Lisa will be helping to nurture a Matrix community and arming hairdressers with both the knowledge and expertise to express themselves creatively while embracing all hair types and textures.
Lisa will also work closely with the education and brand teams on creative projects, new launches and education.
Speaking about Lisa’s appointment, Sussan Verghese, general manager at Matrix said: “We are incredibly excited for Lisa to be joining our Matrix family. We immediately connected with Lisa’s colourful creativity, sense of community and most importantly her empowering approach that connects the growing community of fearless hairdressers in the UK.”
“We support and encourage her views on inclusivity, on playing with bold colours through great technique and a reach all teach all philosophy.”
Lisa has worked with some of the biggest names in music, including Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Rhianna and Kendrick Lamar.
