Colour project spends the day with chris williams

Chris Williams showed the Colour Project how to use pre-prepared wefts to create show looks and non-committal fun styles for clients as the Colour Project spent a day with him. The former Colour Project mentor inspired this year’s team and their current team leader, Paul Dennison. Rush’s central London academy hosted the morning discussion about colour theory. The team picked up a wealth of information about colour theory; “I learnt that yellow is the first colour the eye sees, and pink is the most satisfying on the eye as it breaks the rule of colour and depth,” commented Becky Hill from The Strand Ltd. Chris provided in-depth technical insight, as well as the emotional and sensory impacts of colour. In addition, he shared insight on consolation, working closely with skint one and eye colour to achieve the most dynamic combination. Later, the team had the opportunity to practices the recently learned techniques for show and competition work. The former mentor presented different ways to prep and colour hairpieces, which allow you to get more creative without colouring the models’ actual hair. “I learnt a lot about the application of colour on to wefts and how to present the piece in the hair to make it blend the best it can,” shared Ciara McNamee from Andrew Smith Salons. “Applying wefts is a brilliant skill to take back to the salon as it gives my clients the chance to have amazing creative pieces temporarily without the commitment that puts most people off.”
