London fashion week mens – hj men reports on the key trends HJ Men went backstage at Men’s Fashion Week and what creative sights greeted our eyes! These are the five mens hair trends on our radar for AW18… Look out for our round up next week digesting the trends seen across all shows in more detail.
  1. Individuality rules
Scandi brand Tonsure is all about sleek, minimalist style and the hair reflected that. The team at L’Oreal Professional and Headmasters were all about keeping each model’s hair similar to their own unique styles- from shaved heads, to afros to curls. Cutting was minimal and hair was styled with Scruff Me by tecni.Art L’Oreal pro range. tonsure
  1. The 90s are still raving
At Liam Hodges retro references abounded from kids’ TV shows from the 90s, Mr Blobby, David Byrne from Talking Heads and slime (Fun House, anyone?!). Tina Outen worked her magic creating slime made from Fudge Paintbox Hair Colourant, wigs were coated in a tube of Hair Gum each and copious amounts of Vinyl Pomade was used to give the looks unparalleled wet-look shine. liam hodges
  1. Gender fluid styles
Bobs for boys and hairnets at Charles Jeffrey and longer lengths at both Christopher Raeburn and Tonsure proved that gender fluid styles are here to stay and the gender boundaries are only going to be pushed further. charles Jeffrey
  1. Colour is king
From Liam Hodges’ acid brights, to Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY’s vivid greens, reds and orange block colours, mens’ hair colour is certainly more boundary-pushing than in season’s past. At Liam Hodges, Tina Outen used Fudge’s Paintbox Hair Colourants to create the striking look. The Revlon Professional team weaved their creative magic with sculptural hair pieces and shocking colours that matched their frenzied, angry ethos of Charles Jeffrey’s Tantrum show. liam hodges 2 5.The wet look Scuba diver vibes and sea-submerged looks were the focus at Christopher Raeburn’s Immerse show. The looks were created by Tina Outen using a cocktail of Fudge Professional products including Curve Recovery, Hair Gum, and Gloss Finish Serum. The team teased out the front hair line, styling model’s natural baby hair slick against their foreheads. Vinyl Spray was sprayed on top to create the ultimate wet look shine.
