What is WellaGenNOW?
GenNOW celebrates is celebrating its 10-year anniversary in 2020 and was launched by Wella Professionals to discover rising stars looking to make their mark in the world of hairdressing.
Being part of GenNOW will open doors to a wide range of educational opportunities, which could include on-stage platform work at some of the industry’s biggest events.
The once-in-a-lifetime experience will commence with an intensive Zoom bootcamp, where the team will be mentored by hairdressing icons and receive media training, product knowledge and presentation skills training.
The finalists will embark on an 18-month programme that will be directed by the award-winning lead mentor, and former GenNOW team member, Luke Benson.
Mentor Luke Benson said: “I think we have discovered some incredible new hairdressing talent in the making and I am really looking forward to this creative journey with them. We’re going to work hard but it’s going to be great fun.”
As the programme develops, the team will have opportunities to develop their skills and depending on how the hairdressing calendar looks post-Covid, it is hoped the team will represent Wella at industry shows and events, including Salon International, The BRIT Awards and some Wella education sessions.
Many GenNOW members go on to become Wella Craft Artists, making this a fantastic launch pad for any aspiring creative hairdresser.
