What was your route into hair?

I used to blow dry my mom’s hair growing up and have just always admired hair colour. After moving to Los Angeles in my early twenties my boss at the time encouraged me to attend beauty school. That’s where it all began!

Can you tell us about your present role?

Currently I am a salon owner of Meche salon in Beverly Hills and brand ambassador for Redken.

What are the pros and cons of your role?

I love being behind the chair and seeing my clients everyday! It can be long hours and hard work but I genuinely love being in the salon and getting to travel the world to see all my clients!

What are your tips for building a name in the industry?

Never say no to a job and always learn from your mistakes.

What challenges have you faced in your career so far and how did you overcome them?

Being a single mom and working a full time job with unexpected hours is no joke but you just keep working and providing for your family.

What are your top tips for someone that aspires to have a career like yours?

What’s your styling philosophy?

Look at your old baby photos, that’s how your hair will look best coloured.

What is your favourite account to follow on Instagram?

I love cat Instagram accounts and anything with animals!

What is the signature look you like to create?

I love my clients to have healthy and natural looking hair.

What are your go-to products?

I use Redken shades EQ on majority of all my clients so I keep a box of all my go-tos on hand at all times and I always have Redken flash lift, it’s by far my favourite lightener!

What’s next for you and your career?

Keep learning and finding different ways of giving back!
