Choose Hair, the initiative to encourage more young people to opt for a
career in hairdressing, has revealed it's first brand ambassadors.
The ambassadors are;
Karoliina Saunders
Charmaine Gully
Marlene Lamont
Phillippa Lee
Becky Candy
Heather Robertson
Donna O'Donoghue
Simon Tuckwell
"I’m absolutely delighted to announce the #ChooseHair Ambassadors," says Emma Brady the campaign's founder. "This is vital to the campaign to move it to the next stage. It means we will be able to give coverage throughout the whole of the UK visiting schools during Careers Week and trade fairs too. We received just short of 60 applications. Each and ever application was amazing. This I believe demonstrates the passion UK stylist have to make a change in our wonderful industry."
Choose Hair works with the industry to raise awareness about the dwindling numbers of apprentices entering the hairdressing world. This is due to a number of factors including; schools and colleges not supporting hairdressing as a career choice, parental pressure and a lower wage bracket for apprentices.
The New Talent stage in association with Choose Hair at
Salon International 2019 will feature juniors that the ambassadors work closely with as well as other amazing up and coming talents in the industry. The stage has a full line up of artists for all three days at the ExCeL from 5-7 October.
