Jay birmingham takes us behind the scenes on his latest shoot

For their 2019 photo-shoot with TIGI Professional, colour renowned salon, Muse of London, in Fitzrovia, London, decided to promote their hair extension services and arranged for reality TV stars, Georgia Harrison from Love Island and TOWIE and Yazmin Oukhellou from TOWIE to have their hair extensions fitted prior to being shot for their new imagery and to promote the Beauty Works extensions they provide in their central London salon. Collaborating with Muse of London for the shoot, celebrity stylist and Hot Tools Europe celebrity ambassador, Jay Birmingham, came on-board to work with the celebrities and fit their extensions on the shoot day using Beauty Works Invisi-Tapes.

Here is how Jay created the looks on the day…

"For the Muse of London 2019 photo-shoot the brief with Georgia and Yazmin’s hair was gorgeous, soft flowing waves that look glamorous yet effortless – as though the girls aren’t wearing extensions and the hair is their own, beautiful hair. To create both girls looks I firstly applied the Beauty Works Invisi-Tapes, applying these to areas of the girl’s heads where their hair required more thickness and evenly around the rest of the head for length. They key with the extensions was applying them as discreetly as possible, ensuring the extensions look as natural as possible and are hidden under the girl’s natural hair. https://www.instagram.com/p/B0A35Czgiqq/ The Beauty Works Invisi-Tape extensions are great, as they are quick to apply and as they don’t involve any heat or glue, they are the safest and least damaging method of extensions. Once the extensions were fitted, I styled Yazmin and Georgia’s hair into soft, flowing waves. To create the looks I used the Hot Tools Curling Bar, taking bigger sections of the hair to create a more relaxed and effortless look. I then gently brushed the waves out with a comb to create volume and to give the hair a more natural, soft finish. A number of TIGI Copyright hair products were then used, including the TIGI Copyright Custom Create Colour Lustre Oil to give the girls hair a gorgeous shine and also the TIGI Copyright Maximum Hold Hairspray to hold the hair in place all day long. I also pinned the girl’s hair in sections, paying particular attention to the crown and roots, and applied this product to ensure volume was maintained in these areas."
