The glory of winning a
Wella TrendVision Award doesn't end on the big night once you've left the stage, in fact, the journey has only just begun... Here's an insight into the TVA 2021 Winners shoot.
Last year as part of their prize, UK and Ireland winners were invited on a once in a lifetime photoshoot with
Wella UKI technical director, HJ's British Hairdresser of the Year and Fellowship of British Hairdressing president, Robert Eaton, Wella craft expert, Daniel Couch along with an epic team of hair, make-up and styling experts and leading photographer Kai Wan. The HJ team were also part of the mix and joined the team for the day, that quite frankly, was incredible. The winners shoot was a wonderful combination of excitement, creativity, inspiration and leadership and might fine hairdressing from the TrendVision Award 2021 winners.

What the Professionals Say
Robert Eaton and Daniel Couch, Russell Eaton said: "The vision for the collection was 'Shadows and Shine' which helped bring to life Wella Professionals latest product innovation Shinefinity. We wanted looks that represented immaculate hair quality, shine and hair diversity whilst also sharing the skills of TVA winners. The techniques were created with a two-stage application using Blondor and Koleston Perfect to create light and depth within the hair and Shinefinity to create ultra modern shades and tone. Our favourite moment was seeing the team working so well together to collectively create a collection that we are all so proud of. The shoot really represents a cross section of the industry and brings to life a fresh and modern movement in hair colour."
Kai Wan, pKai Hair: "I have absolutely loved working on the TVA Winners shoot again this year. There is a mutual exchange of creativity and passion with all involved which is fantastic and we all learn and push ourselves, and of course, having the chance to work with Robert Eaton, twice British Hairdresser of the Year!"
"There really was no product more fit for purpose than Shinefinity for the TVA shoot. With its zero damage and zero lift claim we were able to work confidently on bringing a range of hair textures to life with the unique 32 shade palette. The finish of Shinefinity allows the personality of the hair to be maintained, allowing you to see the natural highs and lows that help bring the shadows and light theme alive. This collection is what modern colour is all about, flawless with bespoke applications that are high shine and maintain hair health.

What the TVA 2021 Winners Say...
What did you learn on the shoot?
"There’s so many things I learned on this shoot, but mostly I learned to work on shoots with a developmental attitude towards the looks and to change and tweak them if needed. If the looking isn’ t translating the way you thought it would on camera that ’s ok, you just need to play around with it until it does."
