What looks have you got planned for this year’s festive season? We spoke with Louise Foard, KeraStraight expert and stylist of Trevor Sorbie, Covent Garden, to get her tips on some beautiful styles you can try out for Christmas this year.“The inspiration for these looks comes from creating dual texture. Taking the shiny polished elements, and pairing it with more rough textures in one look,” shares Louise.Below, Louise takes us step-by-step through these looks you should try out:
The Low Pony
(For medium - long hair)Step One: Apply KeraStraight’s Root Boost to damp hair, concentrating around the root area for a lightweight boost of volume. Then blow-dry the hair adding a little bit of natural looking texture using a large round brush.Step Two: Gently brush the hair to the nape of the neck. Once you’re happy with the positioning of the hair, secure with a neural coloured hair elastic. You can add a small ribbon or hair accessory here to make the look more festive if you desire.Step Three: If you haven’t added an accessory, take a small strand of hair from the underneath of the ponytail and wrap around the elastic, securing with a bobby pin.Step Four: Gently pull out strands of the hair around the hairline to frame the face- you can add as many or as little here. Once you’re happy with that, apply a small amount of KeraStraight’s Texture Creme to add definition and luminescent shine to the texture you just created.Step Five: Headbands or a thin ribbon can be a great addition to this look. Once you’re finished, apply your favourite finishing spray.
Sweep Back
(For all hair lengths)Step One: Before your hair wash, apply a KeraStraight Moisture or Protein Mask to make sure your hair is in it’s best ever condition. A good canvas is super important to the ‘cool girl’ looks.Step Two: Following your hair wash, apply KeraStraight’s Root Boost concentrated at the root, and Rescue Creme throughout the mids and lengths of the hair to keep any frizz or damaged strands at bay.Step Three: Blow-dry with a large round brush, or air dry; whichever works for your desired texture. You can go more grungy and undone with air drying, or more glossy and set with a round brush blow-dry; this look is so versatile!Step Four: Taking your Root Boost again, spritz on the root area as you sweep the hair back, away from your face, using your fingers. Then go in with a small amount of Texture Creme to add some separation and shine.Step Five: For a more ‘wet/glossy’ look, you can add the KeraStraight Ultimate Oil here. But if you want a look more true to the image, you can add your favourite finishing spray at this point.
