Coming to you with the official bang bible for the 2022 AMAs earlier this week. Predicted by professionals to be one of the hottest hair trends this winter, we saw a smorgasbord of bangs across the red carpet, worn by some of our favourite A-Listers.
Sabrina Carpenter
Created by celebrity stylist Jennifer Yepez, Sabrina Carpenter walked the red carpet with classic curtain bangs, sitting just above her cheekbones and framing her face beautifully. Ingrid Kadlecova, Revlon Professional global education director,
told HJ: “Define the length you want the curtain bangs to fall at, taking into account your client’s face shape. Then, slide cut the section from the starting point to the perimeter, and texturise the bangs by curve cutting to add depth and volume. Visually connect both sides of the bangs, and deep point cut.” Voila!
Taylor Swift
If there’s anyone that can bring back side bangs, it's Taylor Swift. Complimenting her signature soft waves, hairstylist Jemma Muradian styled her bangs off to one side, creating a soft sweeping fringe across Taylor's forehead. This variation of bangs will take anyone back to the 2000s, but we hope to start seeing more clients asking for this style today. With Taylor Swift and
Bella Hadid on the job, we have no doubts.
Joan Smalls
Joan’s look stood out to us. Celebrity hairstylist Andrew Fitzsimmons cut in a blunt bang, finishing just below her cheekbone in stark contrast to the lengths of her hair. Not only is her chestnut brown a heavenly match for her skin tone and eye colour, but the sharp edge of the bang also defines her jawline.
Bebe Rexha
Opting for a longer variation of bang, Bebe Rexha wore a loose updo with Bardot bangs (inspired by Brigitte Bardot), the longest point of the fringe ending by her jawline – a softer bang than the previously mentioned. Singer Becky G joined her in this, wearing almost the same updo as Bebe as well.
Dove Cameron
Dipping her toes back into the summer-hot trend ‘baby braids’, Dove’s fine bang pieces were braided into dainty plaits and hung on either side of her face, the rest of her hair pulled back into a slick ponytail.
There we have it, the bang bible of the 2022 AMAs. Which type of bang are you seeing most of in your salon so far?
