Myhji snapshot competition winner named

A big well done to MatejKomar winner of the inaugural HJi Snapshot competition, in conjunction with TIGI.

Running throughout July, the competition encouraged you to upload any work that you were really proud of into the MyHJi Snapshot gallery.

There were plenty of stunning entries, but in the end our judge TIGI European Creative Director Nick Irwin choose MatejKomar's image for being a total package.

"It is important that the photograph is a total image encompassing the hair, makeup and the styling," says Nick. "The model choice. too, is important. I have considered all these things in selecting my winner.

"In respect of the hair I have considered technical skill, fashion awareness, and how the hair works in synergy with the total image.

"I liked the texture of the hair - which contrasts with the hard look of the makeup and styling."

Speaking about his winning entry, MatejKomar says: "This is an updo from my spring/summer 2008 collection.

"It was inspired by history and a little bizarre period in 18th century France, but is given a modern twist for today's people and culture."
