Grammys 2015: best tressed guests Grammys 2015: Best Tressed Guests While the BAFTAs celebrated the best of the big screen in London, last night saw the Grammys 2015 name music's most influential in LA. As the music industry's biggest night, it's seen some memorable looks over the years - here are some of this year's highlights. Grammys 2015 best hair - Anna Kendrick Anna Kendrick We say: We love this side of Anna - from the Band of Outsiders tux to the rock chick tousled waves. They say: "I'm a huge fan of Anna Kendrick. Her brunette/honey balayage look really strikes out her stunning eye colour. This natural, relaxed look works well with her skin tone, if her hair colour was any darker she would be at risk of looking too harsh, especially with her black outfit. Her romantic curls and side parting show simplicity but works great with her deep-v plunging neckline." Alison Stewart, Alison Stewart Hairdressing Grammys 2015 best hair - Ariana Grande Ariana Grande We say: No surprises to see Ariana rocking her trademark high ponytail. We love this look, but is it time she found something new? They say: "Who would have guessed Ariana would show up with her statement hairstyle?! I do love this look on her though; her high ponytails show her playful and youthful character. A small section of her hair wrapped around her elastic adds even more height to the ponytail, making it a flirty style but still keeping it sexy with her hair pulled back tightly. Her high ponytail also shows off her heart-shaped and cheekbones." Jason Cocking, Muse of London Grammys 2015 best hair - Zendaya Zendaya We say: We loved when Zendaya switched her long locks for a chic jaw-length bob, but this crop is perhaps a cut too far. We'd love to see it a bit more choppy and layered, styled with more of a bedhead texture to match the swagger of her Westwood dress. They say: "Zendaya’s new cut suits her, however I think the look is way too old for her. She needs a bit of length in her style to keep the look young." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair  Grammys best hair - Azaelia Banks Iggy Azalea We say: Even as ardent fans of braids, we're not convinced by this look. The crown braid feels just a tad too high, resembling more of a hat than a hairstyle. Something about it with that blue dress reminds us of Toxic-era Britney... They say: "Azaelia has opted for a stunning halo braid updo style so that her dress can be the main focus on the red carpet. Her long face shape suits an up style, although I would like to see it being slightly softer as the hair does look pulled in a bit too harshly. This look would work better if the braid was slightly softer. It is a very dramatic look as her sun-kissed blonde hair sets off beautifully against her contrasting electric blue outfit." Neil Barton, Neil Barton Hairdressing Grammys best hair - Beyonce Beyonce We say: These long, loose mermaid waves might not be the most exciting look in the world, but they look great on Beyonce. Love the slightly wet-look texture to the ends, enhancing that mermaid vibe and nodding to this season's wet-look trend. They say: "I’m loving that Beyonce's new long tresses. She was in need of a change and I think this honey blonde complements her skin tone perfectly. As we approach the Spring/Summer months I tend to see a lot of clients going for the lighter colours – maybe blondes do have more fun? Beyonce’s sophisticated long hair is a diffusion of naturally dark to magnificent honey-dipped blonde and is a very flattering look on her." Neil Barton, Neil Barton Hairdressing Grammys best hair - Ciara Ciara We say: That wet-to-dry dual texture look can be tricky to carry off away from the catwalk, but Ciara makes it work here. They say: "This is quite a vampish, sultry look for Ciara with smokey eye makeup and a black dress. I think wearing her hair slicked back from her face was a good move, but I would have liked to have seen more colour in her hair. If she had added in some subtle copper or gold highlights I think it would have set this look off and would have worked better with her skin tone." Glenn Malloy, Spoiled Hairdressing Grammys best hair - Gwen Stefani Gwen Stefani We say: Gwen can do no wrong. This voluminous quiff is a failsafe rock-chick favourite and we love how it echoes the shape of her jumpsuit's neckline. They say: "Gwen Stefani toughened up on the red carpet last night with a short and sassy hair look. Her rock-chick quiff is pulled back to show off her beautiful facial features and shoulders and it also works perfectly with her all-black jumpsuit. Her ice-white blonde locks give her a cool, but simple look; no fussiness is needed when wearing such a flamboyant Atelier Versace jumpsuit." Jason Cocking, Muse of London Grammys best hair - Haim Haim We say: The Haim sisters are our favourite long-hair inspiration. We just love these long, barely-there waves and centre parts - breezy California style at its very best. Grammys best hair - Jennifer Hudson Jennifer Hudson We say: Now this is how you do a crop, Zendaya! We love JHud's shorter style, and the spiked quiff takes this look from just great cut to Grammy red-carpet classic. They say: "Jennifer has gone for a tough, spiky quiff, which looks great against her short choppy sides, but I would like to see her layers a bit softer and in better condition especially for a red carpet look. However, this short pixie crop works perfectly with her face shape and adding that purple lip gives Jennifer’s look extra edginess." Neil Barton, Neil Barton Hairdressing Grammys best hair - Jessie J Jessie J We say: Jessie J's bob is back! We love the styling on this style; a deep side parting and rock-hard, sculpted shellac-finish gloss all over. They say: "Here is a girl who sticks to her own style and does not follow the crowd. I am a huge fan of Jessie J because she never fails to be unique and this slicked back deep side-parted hair does just that. This gothic hair look tucked behind her ear shows off her accessories and blunt cut and her jet black hair and red lip shows off her natural beauty." Alison Stewart, Alison Stewart Hairdressing Grammys best hair - Katy Perry Katy Perry We say: Katy takes her candyfloss hue up a gear with these grungy textured waves. Complete with roots and a few tonal blends of purple, this adds up to one cool look for the Superbowl starlet. Grammys best hair - Kelly Osbourne Kelly Osbourne We say: The original lilac-hair lovely, perhaps Kelly influenced Katy's colour change? Style wise, this half-beehive, half-ponytail is classic Kelly - retro with a twist. They say: "Both Katy and Kelly are rocking the pastel trend with their lavender hues. I love that Katy has teamed her new shade with on trend effortless waves; it adds an edge to her look. Her stylist has added in some volume at the root giving her that bit of extra glamour. Like Katy, Kelly likes to play around with her hair. Kelly has opted for a voluminous look, but for me this one misses the mark. I’d love to have seen a glamorous updo on Kelly as I usually love her red carpet style." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair  Grammys best hair - Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian We say: The most talked-about cut of the year so far? Kim K follows in the footsteps of just about every other celebrity with a long bob for 2015. Styled in tousled waves, this is undeniably an upgrade from those long, straight extensions. They say: "Kim Kardashian has ditched her extensions and followed the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Jourdan Dunn with her mid length bob. It’s a great look very on trend and very versatile – it looks great with a bit of texture through it giving an undone vibe, which is so hot right now. I’d love to see Kim wear this style super sleek next time!" Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair  Grammys best hair - Lady Gaga Lady Gaga We say: Aside from the platinum grey - a shade she previously rocked on the cover of Vanity Fair - this is a surprisingly subtle look from Gaga and refreshingly glam. They say: "Lady Gaga never fails to stand out from the crowd. With her iridescent silver locks which reflect her glowing skin, she keeps the colour extravagant but her style is kept simple, in a sleek side-parting." Jason Cocking, Muse of London Grammys best hair - Madonna Madonna We say: Did Madonna run out of time before her stage appearance or are these pincurls and black clips a style statement? We wouldn't put anything past her. They say: "Madonna stole the show with her matador inspired outfit. The intricate detailing in her hair perfectly compliments her outfit." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair  Grammys best hair - Miley Cyrus Miley Cyrus We say: Miley looked surprisingly normal at the Grammy's in a tasteful black slip dress and simple makeup. The slicked-back hair might be a little 80s schoolboy, but for Miley it's almost understated. They say: "Miley looks super sophisticated with her sleek hair; it’s a nice change from her usual style and it's nice to see her glam it up for the Grammy's. When you’re working with short hair it’s important to get that volume around the roots to avoid the hair falling flat." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair Grammys best hair - Nicki Minaj Nicki Minaj We say: Nicki, like Ciara, brough the slick-to-dry dual-texture trend to the catwalk and we love the results. The volume at the crown lends this look a 60s bombshell feel that we just love. They say: "Nicki Minaj is a red carpet chameleon, but for this one she's opted for a sleek style. I like this style on Nicki but I think it needs to be more wet look style, which would have looked amazing. I like how she’s kept her hair simple and elegant though." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair Grammys best hair - Rihanna Rihanna We say: All eyes were on Rihanna's insane pink Giambattista Valli Couture gown, so it makes sense that her hair was understated. Some have criticised this small bun as too casual, but we think it works. They say: "Usually Rihanna wows us on the red carpet but I was a little disappointed by her ballerina inspired topknot. She usually rocks a statement style, but I feel that this one was a little too effortless." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair Grammys best hair - Rita Ora Rita Ora We say: Thumbs up to Rita's hairdresser, Chris Appleton, for this gorgeous look. Another starlet who we're used to seeing with seriously statement looks, this cut is classy, cool and perfectly understated in comparison to her mirrorball gown. They say: "I love Rita Ora’s playful style, she’s not afraid of change. Her cute pixie crop complements her features and it really works with her eyes. And the colour is great on her." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair Grammys best hair - Taylor Swift Taylor Swift We say: It seems like a lifetime ago that Taylor was our curly-haired queen! These days it's all about that sleek texture, paired with a deep side fringe. We love this look, although we could definitely see TayTay with another inch of the ends of her long bob. They say: "Taylor Swift was one of my best dressed; her style is always flawless. Her bob is one of my favourite looks at the moment as she wears it so well. Her soft side swept fringe gives her look a ladylike feel, which is sophisticated but flirty." Jamie Stevens, Jamie Stevens Hair  [Images: Rex Features]
