Campaign for mandatory state registration of hairdressers hits downing street Delegates from the Hairdressing Council visit Downing Street to discuss state registration of hairdressers The campaign to make state registration for hairdressers mandatory has gained momentum, with a group of delegates invited to 10 Downing Street to discuss the regulation of the hairdressing industry. Representing the case for state registration were CEO of the Hairdressing Council, Sally Styles; chairman of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, David Drew; celebrity hairdresser, Lino Carbosiero and council member Alan Richardson. Mandatory registration was discussed in detail with one of the Prime Minister's senior personal advisors, leaving the delegates feeling positive about a framework to move forward with the cause.
