Katy Perry
"I love the pink-power trend and it looks great on Katy. It's a strong look for this season and the 1950's styling complements the colour. This bold, bright colour needs strong make-up at all times to really work, which means it's not for everyone. Your client should be fully committed before trying this!"

Nicki Minaj
"By the looks of things, the trend for pink hair isn't going anywhere any time soon. With 2012 set to be all about making a statement, Nicki's new look is definitely fit for the job. A combination of her bright pink hair, tight ringlets and elaborate dress sense ensures Nicki well and truly stands out from the crowd. Choosing such an unnatural tone injects a real edge into any style and offers the opportunity to transform your look for a total style statement."

"I coloured Amelia's hair pink in week one of The X Factor and she loved it so much she added a crazy home colour. It was very rock chick, but I wanted to tone it down to a softer shade so we pre-lightened the roots and took it out through the ends then washed it off and used a protein pack to lift out any unwanted warm tones and improve the condition of the hair. To style, I dried her hair smoothly, tonged it loosely and finished with styling powder to make it grungy with lots of body."

Charlotte Free
"Charlotte's trademark bright pink hair is amazing. The colour suits her skin tone perfectly and is fashion forward and edgy while remaining feminine. The loose, second-day style works well with her face shape and overall look. The only small change I would make is to create a more gradual blend, pastelising the pink tone - but that's just personal preference."
